Safety Policy
Scam prevention and safe-transaction guidance.
Most people are honest. A few simple habits keep you safe from the ones who are not.
Meeting in person:
- Meet in a public, well-lit place — many local police stations offer safe exchange zones.
- Bring a friend, and let someone know where you are going.
- Inspect the item carefully before paying.
Payments:
- Never wire money, send gift cards, or pay with cryptocurrency or payment apps to strangers.
- Beware of "overpayment" offers and refund-the-difference requests — these are almost always scams.
- Never share a verification code you receive by text or email with anyone.
Housing and jobs:
- Never send money for a rental before touring the property in person and verifying the person you are dealing with.
- Never pay upfront fees for a job. Legitimate employers never ask for payment to apply.
Accounts and messages:
- Never share your password. We will never ask for it.
- Be cautious when someone insists on moving to another platform immediately.
